  CPE Recommendation:
Program is recommended for 1.0 credit in Ethics at the basic level for CPA's responsible for ensuring ethical behavior, either formally or informally, in the workplace. Emphasis is on sharpening leadership skills.  This is a non-technical learning activity that contributes to the general, professional competence of a CPA.   It is the responsibility of the individual CPA to make the determination as to relevance to his/her individual practice and, for that reason, OK Ethics makes no guarantees.

Program Description:

In times of change and uncertainty, there is an enormous amount of pressure placed upon leaders to compromise their ethical standards for the sake of expediency or survival. This program, designed exclusively for OK Ethics, explores what leaders need to know about navigating uncharted territory.

Led by Dr. Nathan Mellor, the program will explore topics such as:

  • How can leaders maintain their standards for hiring when they are experiencing rapid growth?
  • What ethical considerations need to be made when an organization needs to downsize?
  • What responsibility does a leader have when they recognize they need to change course, but the change will require employees to invest more time and effort on behalf of the organization?

If you are looking for a deeper understanding of ethical leadership and change management, this program is a can’t miss. Led by Dr. Nathan Mellor, this original and relevant presentation promises to be both inspirational and informative.

About the Presenter:

Dr. Nathan Mellor is one of OK Ethics’ top presenters, drawing large audiences that he inspires and equips with powerful messages about the importance of good character in our daily lives. His positivity, humor and wisdom are mighty antidotes to the chaos and distrust found in the world.  In 2018, OK Ethics honored him as their Executive Pilot Award recipient.

Dr. Mellor has not only addressed OK Ethics guests in attendance at OKC and Tulsa chapter events, he has also generously donated his time by assisting the OK Ethics Board with planning sessions. He has been a popular keynote speaker on campuses for over twenty years, and his impact is felt well beyond the borders of our state.

In pursuit of educational, humanitarian and religious interests, Dr. Mellor has studied or taught in Australia, Belize, China, England, Guyana, Israel, Jordan, Mexico, Russia and Rwanda. He is passionate about developing future leaders and is the co-founder of the Presidential Leadership Institute, hosted on the campus of York College, in collaboration with the Eisenhower Presidential Library and Museum. Since founding Strata Leadership with his business partner, Frank Smith, in late 2009, the company has grown from a single employee in a windowless office to a multi-million dollar family of companies, which include Mosaic Personnel, Qubit Creative and Strata Leadership.

Dr. Mellor earned a doctorate of education in organizational leadership from Pepperdine University and a master’s in dispute resolution from the Pepperdine University School of Law, where he was named a Straus Fellow. He also holds a Master of Science degree in education from Harding University, where he served as the Graduate Assistant to the University President. His bachelor’s degree is also from Harding, where he served as Student Association President, earned his letter playing intercollegiate football, played trumpet in the Pep Band and sang in the choir.
